Gone yet not forgotten

Today, our hearts ache a thousand times with sadness. Words cannot begin to describe the emptiness we feel in our house without him. Two days ago we had to say goodbye to our best friend and most adored family member to cancer. I used to joke that he has gone on more vacations and seen more of the world than I ever will. After 13 years I can honestly say that he has lived his life with a constant smile and a life rich with love.

Someone once wrote, “There are things that we don’t want to happen but have to accept, things we don’t want to know but have to learn, and people (and dog in this case) we can’t live without but have to let go.” Letting go is always easier said than done but we will treasure all the fond memories of Mason and keep him close in all of our hearts.

For those who have experienced loss I hope you find strength to go on and grow in love enough to share with those closest to you.

Farewell dear friend. We miss you immensely.
